The Torrington Company v. the United States and SKF USA Inc. and SKF GmbH; FAG Kugelfischer Georg Schafer AG and FAG Bearings Corporation

Slip Op. 00-102 (CIT August 18, 2000)

FINAL RESULTS OF REDETERMINATION PURSUANT TO COURT REMAND

SUMMARY

The Department of Commerce has prepared these final results of redetermination pursuant to the remand order of the U.S. Court of International Trade in The Torrington Company v. the United States and SKF USA Inc. and SKF GmbH; FAG Kugelfischer Georg Schafer AG and FAG Bearings Corporation, Slip Op. 00-102 (CIT August 18, 2000). In accordance with the U.S. Court of International Trade's instructions with respect to SKF USA Inc. and SKF GmbH, we have 1) excluded further-manufactured sales from the margin calculation for constructed export price, 2) excluded SKF's United States sales that were made outside the review period from our calculations, and 3) recalculated SKF's dumping margins accordingly. The period of review is May 1, 1997, through April 30, 1998.

On October 11, 2000, the Department released to interested parties for comment the draft results of redetermination pursuant to court remand. We did not receive any comments.

FINAL RESULTS OF REDETERMINATION

As a result of these corrections, SKF's weighted-average margins for the period of review changed from 1.23 percent to 1.90 percent for ball bearings, from 5.47 percent to 5.64 percent for cylindrical roller bearings, and remained at 3.06 percent for spherical plain bearings. Upon a

final and conclusive court decision affirming our remand determination, we will publish an amended final results of review to that effect.
