FTZ Board Update: Outreach Events in Charleston, South Carolina on May 14

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO SHARE THIS UPDATE WITH YOUR OPERATORS, USERS, AND OTHERS WHO MAY BE INTERESTED IN THE FTZ PROGRAM.

To provide training and enable discussion on topics of interest in the FTZ program, I will be hosting two outreach events in Charleston, South Carolina on May 14, 2013. RSVPs are necessary for either of these events:

9:00 to 10:30 a.m. – General training open to grantees and anyone else interested in attending – Will cover the FTZ Board’s latest application formats (including for waiver requests under the uniform treatment provision of the regulations), plus enable Q & A/discussion on any topics that attendees want to discuss.

10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Outreach session for officials of grantee organizations – Will focus on regulatory provisions that have a direct impact on the grantee role (including public utility and uniform treatment), plus enable Q & A/discussion on any topics that attendees want to discuss. Although the session is scheduled to end at 12:30 p.m., we will have the flexibility to take extra time if any attendees would like.

There will be no charge for attendees of either of these outreach events.

The location for the events is:

176 Concord St.
Charleston, SC 29401

FYI, this location is approximately one-half mile from the venue for an industry event taking place on May 12-13.

RSVPs are needed for the outreach events. To register, please e-mail your name, title, and company/organization to ftz@trade.gov or call Marsha Foust at (202) 482-2862 no later than May 10, 2013. Please specify which outreach event(s) you would like to attend.

And, as always, do not hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have.
