Hearing
TEXT: An application has been submitted to the Foreign-Trade Zones Board
(the Board) by the Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority (Port Authority), a
New York public corporation, requesting authority to establish a general-
purpose foreign-trade zone in Ogdensburg, New York, within the Ogdensburg
Customs port of entry. The application was submitted pursuant to the
provisions of the Foreign-Trade Zones Act, as amended (19 U.S.C. 81a-81u),
and the regulations of the Board (15 CFR Part 400. It was formally filed on
April 17, 1984. The applicant is authorized to make this proposal under
Chapter 759, Laws of New York, 1971.

activity. The zone will be operated by the Port Authority as an integral
part of the park.
The application contains evidence of the need for zone services in the
area. A number of firms, including several of the current park tennants,
have indicated an interest in using zone procedures for warehousing/
distribution and manipulation of products such as filters, computers and
components, communications equipment and other types of electronic
